Marking system to commence in University Examinations

By Head Chancellor’s Orders

Marking system to commence in University Examinations-

Marking system would be applied now to all degree/diploma examinations of higher education. The Governor Kalyan Singh has ordered all chancellors of government universities to start the marking scheme to bring transparency throughout in marking of the answer sheets. In regard to the same all chancellors were sent letters from the Rajyabhawan on Monday. This new scheme will commence from the present session. In the prevalent earlier scheme, there is no model for the checking of answer sheets with the examiners and as everyone’s point of view is not similar regarding an answer and so different examiners happen to score the same question differently.

Marking Scheme-

Every stipulated answer will also be prepared while making the question paper. Also, it should be made clear in the marking scheme that for an answer what kind and how many facts and steps need to be inculcated and what marks should be awarded on the basis of those mentioned steps and facts. Also, it should be made clear that if any of those facts and steps are missing, then how many marks for each should be cut.

The examiners will have to make this marking scheme public on the website after they have checked and awarded the marks so that the students can also calculate and access their marks and progress.
